Wife, Mother, Business Woman, and Community Leader
Ceci has been immersed in our community from the very beginning. Growing up in Stamford, working in New Canaan and Darien, volunteering in Westport, and raising her family first in Norwalk and later in Wilton, where she calls home.
After a successful career in business running a multi million dollar department, Ceci stayed home full time to raise her three young children and volunteer in the local schools & community.
As her children grew, Ceci decided to go back to school and obtained her master degree from Columbia University in Social Work. Her clinical eye and caring spirit brought her first to work with children and youth in a psychiatric hospital, and then into the nonprofit world. Very quickly her peers noticed that with her combined business skills and counseling knowledge, Ceci was a leader to watch.
She led the national growth of highly successful educational opportunity programs at Horizons for 5 years and then worked 14 years as Executive Director at Person-to-Person. Ceci grew P2P from providing food for 174,000 meals to those in need, to providing food for more than 2 million meals. She tackled issues of food, clothing, and housing insecurity, focused on education access and summer programs for children, while building the agency to meet needs in 7 towns. Through innovation, sound economic management and building relationships, Ceci is known to deliver sound results, and is a trusted partner in the community.
Ceci continued to use her leadership and management skills as Interim Executive Director of Sandy Hook Promise, teaching programs that prevent gun violence and teach Know the Signs to create safer schools for students and help for families. The health, safety, and dignity of children and families is always uppermost among her priorities.
Ceci understands the difficult times we have experienced during the pandemic. She knows our communities face uncertain times and need a strong leader to advocate for their needs. She has never shied away from facing difficult problems and has a proven history of delivering results. She is the right choice as our next State Senator!
